Driving down the coast of Udupi, we came across a clutter of hulls, bows, ropes, polls and flags. As we kept going, this welter of boats just did not seem to end.


Even from a distance, the jumble of the Malpe Fishing Harbour was hard to comprehend. Turns out, that it is one of the largest and important fishing harbours in Asia.

Up close, it was a like a hive of trawlers bustling with all kinds of activity. From the commerce of the day . . .

. . . to building and maintenance.

And there was a good amount of inactivity well . . .


For me though, the docks offered some bright, colourful truly unique visuals.
